KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol) and Air France (AF, Paris CDG) are mulling an even closer partnership with Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi International), as proposed by the Emirati carrier. In a recent interview with Dutch aviation journal, Luchtvaartnieuws.nl, the CEO of Air France-KLM, Mr. Alexandre de Juniac, said the parameters of a possible joint-venture between the two operators was currently being discussed but gave no hint as to when a deal could be struck. On the local front, KLM has announced that Transavia Airlines (HV, Amsterdam Schiphol) will more and more develop into a feeder airline for the Dutch carrier as well, having previously focused on the leisure market. The move, according to KLM's Camiel Eurlings, should allow Transavia, who have struggled financially in recent years following a failed Danish market venture, to post a small profit for this financial year.
