Air Indus (MPK, Karachi International) has launched operations with a fleet of three B737-300s after the Pakistani Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) issued it an AOC in late July. The airline currently operates exclusively domestic flights between Karachi International, Islamabad International, Lahore International, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Bahawalpur and Faisalabad with Skardu, Dera Ghazi Khan and Sialkot flights to launch in due course. Backed by Karakoram Motors, Air Indus claims that after a successful initial year of operations, it plans to offer flights to the Gulf and the Middle East with long term goals of serving the Far East, Europe and the Americas.
