Qantas (QF, Sydney Kingsford Smith) is set to replace its fleet of five B737-400s with five ex-MexicanaClick (México City International) B717-200s - msns 55178, 55179, 55180, 55193 & 55194 - currently being prepared for the airline in the US. Once in service, Cobham Aviation Services Australia - Airline Services (QJE, Adelaide International) will operate the aircraft, albeit as QantasLink, on flights from Canberra to Sydney Kingsford Smith, Melbourne Tullamarine and Brisbane International. The five newly acquired 717s are slated to enter service during the airline's 2014 Financial Year and will come configured with a 12-seat business class & 98-seat economy class lay out. Qantas' existing fleet of thirteen 717s will be upgraded with new, all-economy interiors.
