Air France (AF, Paris CDG) and partner, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol), have abandoned exclusive talks with German turnaround specialists, Intro Aviation, over the sale of Irish regional carrier, CityJet (WX, Dublin International), it has emerged. Quoting an unnamed trade union representative privy to the talks, French newspaper, Le Figaro, said that although talks with the Germans would continue, their exclusivity had been annulled. In the past, Air France has refused to either confirm or deny that negotiations were being conducted with Intro Aviation, simply referring to them as "the Investor". As part of its cost cutting plans, the French carrier is seeking to offload CityJet which has struggled financially in recent years.
