LAN Ecuador (XL, Quito Int'l) will give up its Guayaquil-Miami Int'l route by April 15 and lay off 60 of its employees as a direct result given it will only require two instead of three B767-300s going forward. It will continue to serve two routes to the US, serving New York JFK from Guayaquil and Miami Int'l from Quito Int'l.
