American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth) ordered seven E175s directly from Embraer during the 2023 Paris Air Show to be operated by subsidiary Envoy Air (MQ, Dallas/Fort Worth).
"Our journey with Embraer began 25 years ago with the E145, and our partnership continues to grow today as we take these additional aircraft and grow our all-E-Jet fleet. Not only are our customers happy with the aircraft, but the jet's outstanding performance and reliability has allowed us to continue to provide excellent service to American Airlines and the thousands of customers we serve every day", said President and Chief Executive of the regional airline Pedro Fábregas said.
Deliveries of the seven added jets are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2023 and conclude by the end of 2024.
Envoy Air currently operates sixteen E170s (with six more due) and 107 E175s on behalf of its parent. The carrier recently completed the phase-out of the E145, transitioning to a larger aircraft family. Envoy Air will operate 141 or more E-Jets by the end of 2024, taking into account the newly placed order.
The American Eagle E175 fleet also comprises 20 aircraft operated by SkyWest Airlines (OO, Salt Lake City) and 85 by Republic Airways (YX, Indianapolis International). All of them are owned by each respective airline, not by AA or third-party lessors.
