Slovak Airlines (Bratislava) has been forced to stop operations in mid-January after its parent Austrian Airlines (OS/Vienna) has repossessed the Fokker 100 and B737-300 subleased to the carrier. Austrian claims the Slovak Republic government has failed to meet its obligations and take over some of debts of the formerly state owned carrier that is now expected to file for bankruptcy. Slovak Airlines had operated scheduled flights from Bratislava to Brussels and Moscow Sheremetyevo as well as charter services.
