12APR2013: BB Airways to relaunch operations with two A320s; eyes a "significantly" larger network
BB Airways (BO, Kathmandu Tribhuvan International (KTM)) plans to "significantly expand" its international network following a restructuring exercise. Despite only launching in September 2012, the Nepali carrier shut up shop in February following the return of a wet-leased B757-200, which it now plans to replace with two dry-leased Airbus A320-200s, due shortly. Should operations eventually resume, BB Airways intends to focus on the migrant-worker market, with possible destinations including India, Saudi-Arabia, Malaysia and the Gulf states, all of whom are home to large Nepali expatriate communities.

BB Airways (BO, Kathmandu Tribhuvan International (KTM)) has returned the single B757-200 it had wet-leased from TonléSap Airlines (K9, Phnom Penh Pochentong International (PNH)) back on December 21 and has temporarily suspended operations on its routes from Kathmandu to Hong Kong Chep Lap Kok International (HKG), Kuala Lumpur International (KUL) and Taipei Taoyuan International (TPE). It plans to resume operations with different aircraft later this year.

22OCT2012: BB Airways adds Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur with wet-leased B757-200
BB Airways (BO, Kathmandu Tribhuvan International (KTM)) has now wet-leased B757-200 XU-TSC (MSN 26251) from its partner TonléSap Airlines (K9, Phnom Penh Pochentong International (PNH)) to launch new four times weekly service from Kathmandu to Kuala Lumpur International (KUL) and three weekly flights to Hong Kong Chep Lap Kok International (HKG). These new flights have been launched on October 11. BB competes with AirAsia X (D7, Kuala Lumpur International (KUL)), Malaysia Airlines (MH, Kuala Lumpur International (KUL)) and Nepal Airlines (RA, Kathmandu Tribhuvan International (KTM)) on the route to Kuala Lumpur and with Dragonair (KA, Hong Kong Chep Lap Kok International (HKG)) and Nepal Airlines on the route to Hong Kong. As previously reported, it also operates a weekly charter service in cooperation with TonléSap from Kathmandu via Siem Reap Angkor International (REP) to Taipei Taoyuan International (TPE).

13SEP2012: BB Airways plans to launch operations with weekly Taiwan-Nepal service
BB Airways (BO, Kathmandu Tribhuvan International (KTM)) plans to launch operations in early October using a B757-200 wet-leased from TonléSap Airlines (K9, Phnom Penh Pochentong International (PNH)) for a weekly scheduled charter service from Taipei Taoyuan International (TPE) via Siem Reap Angkor International (REP) to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International (KTM). The flights need to make a technical stop in Cambodia as no traffic rights could be obtained for a direct flight between the two countries. TonléSap already operates own scheduled services between Siam Reap and Taipei several times weekly.

BB Airways (BO, Kathmandu Tribhuvan International (KTM)) is planning to launch in September with two B757-200s offering flights from Kathmandu Tribhuvan International (KTM) to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International (BKK), Delhi Indira Gandhi International (DEL) and Kuala Lumpur International (KUL) initially. The carrier is backed by Japanese investment company TBI Group that is owned by Nepalese expatriates living in Japan.
