China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou) has outlined its planned international B787-8 route network following the recent inauguration of the type on flights between Guangzhou and Beijing Capital. The routes planned include Guangzhou to Paris CDG, Vancouver Int'l, London Heathrow and Auckland Int'l. No precise launch dates have been given as, under indefinite restrictions placed on the type by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the 787 is presently only allowed to operate on domestic Chinese flights.

China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou) has opened reservations for its inaugural B787-8 flight, set to operate between Guangzhou and Beijing Capital on June 6. The announcement comes after the Chinese carrier took delivery of its first of ten Dreamliners, B-2725 (msn 34923), at a ceremony held on Friday, May 31.

China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou) will take delivery of its first of ten B787-8s, B-2725 (msn 34923), on May 31, the airline has officially announced. The Dreamliner, China's first, is officially expected in Guangzhou on June 2. However, under restrictions placed on the type by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the aircraft will only be allowed to operate domestic Chinese flights, though for how long, is uncertain.

Boeing (BOE, Chicago O'Hare) has received the all clear from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) regarding planned B787-8 overseas-operations in China, set to begin in the coming months. However, according to the administration's approval statement, the CAAC "will require carriers to operate their 787s only on domestic routes initially". Both China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou) and Hainan Airlines (HU, Haikou) expect to take delivery of their first of 10 respective Dreamliners over the coming weeks with Hainan Airlines hoping to use them on its new flight from Beijing Capital to Chicago O'Hare on September 3. There have been some concerns from the Chinese media over the proposed "run in" period for the 787 as China Southern Airlines, the only local customer for the A380-800, racked up heavy losses after being required to fly their A380s on domestic routes only for a year before receiving clearance to start international service.

Shandong Airlines (SC, Jinan) has announced plans to sell its five of its six remaining B737-300s to China Postal Airlines (8Y, Tianjin) for likely conversion into freighters. Operational since 1997, China Postal Airlines was founded by the Chinese Postal Bureau (51%) and China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou) (49%). It was originally set up to operate domestic postal services, but in 2006 introduced international scheduled services to South Korea and Japan. Its fleet currently includes eight B737-300(F)s, two AC737-300(QC)s and eight B737-400(F)s.
