Golden Myanmar Airlines (Y5, Yangon) will lease two ATR72-600s from US-based aircraft lessor Air Lease Corporation with delivery scheduled for January and March of 2014. The deal marks a dramatic upturn in business for the South East Asian country following the recent lifting of sanctions by both the US and the European Union. As Myanmar's first scheduled domestic and international low cost carrier, GMA will use the two turboprops to supplement its current meagre fleet of one Airbus A320-200 used to service Mandalay internally and Singapore Changi and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi regionally.

Golden Myanmar Airlines (Y5, Yangon) will launch international services on March 15 when it will launch a daily A320-200 service between Yangon and Singapore Changi with Bangkok Suvarnabhumi being added as a second destination from March 31 also with a daily flight. Golden Myanmar has launched operations in January and currently only operates between Yangon and Mandalay. It also plans to add Hong Kong Chep Lap Kok and Kuala Lumpur Int'l to its network later this year.

Golden Myanmar Airlines (Y5, Yangon) is planning to add two ATR 72 turboprops to its single A320-200 according to AeroTransport. It currently uses a single A320-200 XY-AGS (c/n 1407) on the busiest domestic route between Yangon and Mandalay and has plans to expand to regional routes at a later stage.

Golden Myanmar Airlines (Y5, Yangon) is about to take delivery of its first ex-Spanair (JK, Barcelona El Prat) A320-200 XY-AGS (c/n 1407). It plans to launch operations on January 11 offering domestic flights between Yangon and Mandalay.

Golden Myanmar Airlines (Y5, Yangon) is reportedly planning to cooperate with low-cost carrier Tiger Airways (TR, Singapore Changi) leasing several A320 family aircraft from its partner to launch operations in 2013. It plans to operate from Mandalay and Yangon on domestic and regional routes.
