30MAR2013: CityLine to retire CRJ-700 fleet as part of Lufthansa regional fleet plans?
Lufthansa CityLine (CL, Cologne/Bonn Konrad Adenauer (CGN)) could replace its fleet of twenty CRJ-700 regional jets with larger aircraft as part of parent Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International (FRA)) plans to change its regional operations. Lufthansa has already announced plans to remove all 70-seat turboprops from its operations by ending its wet-lease agreement with Augsburg Airways (IQ, Munich Franz Josef Strauss International (MUC)) in general and retiring the ATR72-500s at subsidiary Air Dolomiti (EN, Verona Villafranca (VRN)). It is now also studying the potential replacement of CityLine's CRJ-700s by additional larger regional jets.

25MAR2013: Augsburg Airways to be reportedly closed down by October 31
Augsburg Airways (IQ, Munich Franz Josef Strauss International (MUC)) is expected to be liquidated by October 31 of this year when its wet-lease agreements with Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International (FRA)) and Swiss (LX, Zurich Kloten (ZRH)) end according to a report by local newspaper Augsburger Allgemeine. Lufthansa had announced last year that it would not extend its wet-lease agreement with Augsburg Airways from the end of the upcoming IATA summer timetable period. Augsburg Airways currently operates seven Dash 8-400s on behalf of Lufthansa and one for Swiss as well as five EMB-195s for Lufthansa. The EMB-195s are expected to be transferred to Lufthansa subsidiary Lufthansa CityLine (CL, Cologne/Bonn Konrad Adenauer (CGN)).

13FEB2013: Augsburg Airways to operate for Swiss from April 1
Augsburg Airways (IQ, Munich Franz Josef Strauss International (MUC)) will wet-lease one of its nine Dash 8-400s to Swiss (LX, Zurich Kloten (ZRH)) from April 1 onwards. The aircraft will be based at Nuremberg (NUE) and operate up to four daily services to Zurich on behalf of Swiss replacing A319-100s, A320-200s and ARJ-100s of Swiss European Air Lines (SWU, Zurich Kloten (ZRH)) currently used on the route.

09DEC2012: Air Dolomiti to drop ATR 72-500 fleet, cut 116 jobs
Air Dolomiti (EN, Verona Villafranca (VRN)) plans to withdraw its entire fleet of 11 ATR 72-500s from use replacing them with the five new EMB-195s it has started adding to its existing fleet of five EMB-195s. The Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International (FRA)) owned regional carrier has just recently taken delivery of its sixth EMB-195 I-ADJP (c/n 19000578). As part of the transition, 116 jobs are expected to be cut at Air Dolomiti. Lufthansa had already previously announced the cancellation of its wet-lease agreement with Augsburg Airways (IQ, Munich Franz Josef Strauss International (MUC)) effective October 2013 leaving it without turboprop aircraft operated by its regional carriers by then. From January 2013, Air Dolomiti will again start operating routes from Munich Franz Josef Strauss International (MUC) to Bari Karol Wojtyla International (BRI), Florence Peretola (FLR), Venice Marco Polo Tessera (VCE) and Verona Villafranca (VRN) and between Frankfurt International (FRA) and Verona Villafranca (VRN) under its own flight numbers with Lufthansa just codesharing on these routes replacing the current wet-lease agreement.

15NOV2012: Lufthansa CityLine to take over five Augsburg Airways EMB-195s
Lufthansa CityLine (CL, Cologne/Bonn Konrad Adenauer (CGN)) is expected to add five additional EMB-195s owned by Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International (FRA)) but currently operated by Augsburg Airways (IQ, Munich Franz Josef Strauss International (MUC)) during the course of 2013. Lufthansa has recently cancelled the wet-lease agreement with Augsburg Airways effective October 2013 leaving the carrier with a fleet of ten Dash 8-400s and two EMB-190s it is now offering to other carriers for similar wet-lease contracts.
