22NOV2012: Management buy-out at Manx2, to rebrand as Citywing
Citywing (V9, Isle of Man Ronaldsway (IOM)) will be the new brand to be adopted by virtual regional carrier Manx2 (NM, Isle of Man Ronaldsway (IOM)) from January 1, 2013. The company has been acquired by its management team led by managing director David Buck which has taken over from the previous largest shareholder Noel Hayes. Citywing will continue to offer the same schedule from the Isle of Man to Belfast George Best City (BHD), Blackpool Squire's Gate (BLK), Gloucestershire (GLO) and Newcastle (NCL) but will drop routes to Leeds/Bradford International (LBA) and Oxford Kidlington (OXF) from early January. It will also continue to operate from Gloucester to Jersey (JER) and on its public service obligation route in Wales between Cardiff International (CWL) and Anglesey Valley (VLY). Manx2 (or Citywing going forward) is essentially just a ticketing agency selling seats on Jetstream 32s chartered from Links Air (LNQ, Humberside (HUY)) and Let 410s chartered from VAN AIR Europe (V9, Brno Turany (BRQ)) and does not have own aircraft or an air operator certificate.

12NOV2012: Manx2 stops cooperation with FLM Aviation
Manx2 (NM, Isle of Man Ronaldsway (IOM)) has stopped its cooperation with German charter carrier FLM Aviation (Kiel Holtenau (KEL)) and no longer uses FLM's Do228s on its scheduled services since November 5. Manx2 is a virtual carrier chartering aircraft from other operators for scheduled services from Isle of Man Ronaldsway (IOM) and between Cardiff International (CWL) and Anglesey Valley (VLY). Manx2 continues to use Links Air (LNQ, Humberside (HUY)) Jetstream 31s and VAN AIR Europe (V9, Brno Turany (BRQ)) Let 410s on its services.

Aer Lingus (EI, Dublin International (DUB)) is reportedly considering moving its operations in Northern Ireland from Belfast Aldergrove International (BFS) to Belfast George Best City (BHD) according to a report by the BBC. Aer Lingus currently has two A319-100s and an A320-200 based at Belfast International. Belfast City airport had recently lost one of its main customers after low-cost carrier bmibaby (WW, East Midlands (EMA)) has closed its base there. British Airways (BA, London Heathrow (LHR)) (taking over from bmi british midland (BD, East Midlands (EMA))), Flybe. (BE, Exeter International (EXT)) and Manx2 (NM, Isle of Man Ronaldsway (IOM)) currently serve Belfast City while Aer Lingus, easyJet (U2, London Luton (LTN)), Jet2 (LS, Leeds/Bradford International (LBA)), Thomas Cook Airlines UK (MT, Manchester Ringway International (MAN)), Thomson Airways (BY, London Luton (LTN)) and United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare International (ORD)) operate from Belfast International.

Manx2 (NM, Isle of Man Ronaldsway (IOM)) has given up its Belfast City-Galway and Isle of Man-Belfast Intl routes by the end of October. It continues to operate up to four daily Isle of Man-Belfast City services. After a fatal landing accident of a Metroliner III operated by Flightline (Spain) (FTL/Barcelona) on a Belfast City-Cork service, it has also terminated its services on the route and cooperation with the Spanish carrier on March 13. Manx2 has replaced the Metroliner III by a Jetstream 31 wet-leased from Links Air (LNQ/Humberside). Manx2 has launched twice weekly service between Isle of Man and Anglesey on June 3 using FLM Aviation (Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel) Do228-200s.
