    Tatarstan Air (U9, Kazan International (KZN)) has taken delivery of its first Cessna Grand Caravan 208 with a second due to be delivered within the week. Overall, the carrier is expecting a total of 15 Cessna Grand Caravan 208 aircraft before July, all of whom are leased from Russia's State Transport Leasing Company (STLC) on a 10-year contract. The turboprops will be used on flights to aide the development of regional transportation in Privolzhsky Federal District in Russia.

    Rusline (7R, Moscow Sheremetyevo International (SVO)) has abandoned its short-lived leisure charter carrier experiment and will instead focus on its scheduled network. As a result, the two ex-easyJet (U2, London Luton (LTN)) A319-100s, VP-BDY (c/n 2442) and VP-BDZ (c/n 2446), it had taken delivery of in April 2012 have been transferred to fellow operator, Tatarstan Air (U9, Kazan International (KZN)). Tatarstan Air already operates two other A319-100s.

    Tatarstan Air (U9, Kazan International (KZN)) and its sister carrier Ak Bars Aero (2B, Bugulma (UUA)) have presented a joint fleet expansion plan. Tatarstan Air plans to add A320-200s and additional A319-100s to replace its B737-400 and two B737-500s. It already operates two A319-100s and aims to operate a total of 10 A320 family aircraft by 2015. Ak Bars plans to increase its CRJ-200 fleet from 13 to 35 aircraft in the same timeframe.

    Tatarstan Air (U9, Kazan International (KZN)) and Ak Bars Aero (2B, Bugulma (UUA)) are expected to be merged in 2012 based on an announcement made by the regional government of Tatarstan which owns 50% of Tatarstan Air and 46.13% of Ak Bars.

    Tatarstan Air (U9, Kazan International (KZN)) has started five times weekly B737-500 service from Nizhnekamsk to Moscow Sheremetyevo on November 15 in addition to its twice daily services to Moscow Domodedovo. Aeroflot (SU/Moscow Sheremetyevo) is codesharing on this new route. Tatarstan Air is planning to replace its B737 fleet with A320 family aircraft and will shortly take delivery of its first two ex-Air Jamaica (JM/Kingston Norman Manley) and ex-Koral Blue Airlines A319-100s.
