12NOV2012: Eritrean will not acquire ex-TACV B757-200
Eritrean Airlines (B8, Asmara International (ASM)) will not acquire TACV - Cabo Verde Airlines (VR, Praia Nelson Mandela International (RAI)) B757-200 D4-CBP (MSN 30045) as incorrectly reported by ch-aviation last week. The aircraft has been repainted in new TACV colours and delivered back to the national carrier of the Cape Verde Islands.

07NOV2012: Eritrean to lease B757-200 retired from TACV fleet
Eritrean Airlines (B8, Asmara International (ASM)) is planning to shortly take delivery of a first ex-TACV - Cabo Verde Airlines (VR, Praia Nelson Mandela International (RAI)) B757-200 (MSN 30045) currently being prepared for the carrier at Addis Ababa Bole International (ADD). TACV has just retired this relatively new B757-200 delivered to AeroMéxico (AM, México City Benito Juárez International (MEX)) in spring 2001 as its second of two aircraft of the type. Eritrean currently operates a single B767-200 and wet-leases an A319-100 and an A320-200 from charter carrier BH Air - Balkan Holidays Air (8H, Sofia International (SOF)).

TACV - Cabo Verde Airlines (VR, Praia Nelson Mandela International (RAI)) has temporarily wet-leased B767-300ER CS-TLO (MSN 24318) from euroAtlantic Airways (YU, Lisbon Portela de Sacavem (LIS)) until mid-November. It mainly uses the aircraft on its route from Praia Nelson Mandela International (RAI) to Boston General Edward Lawrence Logan International (BOS) as well as from Praia Nelson Mandela International (RAI), Sal Amilcar Cabral International (SID) and São Vicente Cesaria Evora (VXE) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG).

euroAtlantic Airways (YU, Lisbon Portela de Sacavem (LIS)) has found two new wet-lease customers and is currently operating its B737-800 CS-TQU (MSN 30646) on behalf of TACV - Cabo Verde Airlines (VR, Praia Nelson Mandela International (RAI)) and its B777-200ER CS-TFM (MSN 28513) on behalf of Conviasa (V0, Caracas Simón Bolívar International (CCS)). The B777 wet-lease replaces a previous agreement Conviasa had with Air Tahiti Nui (TN, Papeete Faa'a (PPT)) which had operated an A340-300 on its behalf between Madrid Barajas (MAD) and Caracas Simón Bolívar International (CCS).
