03MAY2013: Loganair begins fleet integration of Suckling Airways' Dorniers
Loganair (LM, Glasgow Abbotsinch International (GLA)) has begun the fleet integration of six Do328-100s belonging to Suckling Airways (CB, Cambridge (CBG)), whom it acquired in 2011. As of April 29, four of the aircraft, including two that had been wet-leased to Cityjet (WX, Dublin International (DUB)) for use out of London City (LCY), have been transferred onto Loganair's AOC. Previously known as Scot Airways, the airline reverted back to its registered name of Suckling Airways in July 2011 as part of the deal with Loganair and, until April 2013, had continued to trade as a separate airline while holding its own licences and approvals.

12APR2013: Air France-KLM in talks with 2-3 serious bidders interested in Cityjet
Cityjet (WX, Dublin International (DUB)) has received "very positive feedback" from the market as parent Air France-KLM is currently in negotiations with "two or three" interested bidders regarding the sell off of its Irish subsidiary. According to a report by the Irish Times, two of the bidders have been identified as ASL Aviation Group and Intro Aviation. ASL controls cargo operator Air Contractors (AG, Dublin International (DUB)), French cargo and charter airline Europe Airpost (5O, Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG)) and South African cargo and ACMI specialist Safair (FA, Johannesburg Oliver Reginald Tambo International (JNB)). Intro Aviation owns a majority stake in Austrian regional carrier InterSky (3L, Friedrichshafen Bodensee (FDH)) and is also said to be one of the bidders for a stake in Adria Airways (JP, Ljubljana Joze Pucnik (LJU)). Cityjet CEO Christine Ourmières said "she is impressed with the calibre" of bidders who have so far submitted proposals, all of whom have grand long-term plans for the company. At present, CityJet operates an ageing fleet of nineteen ARJ-85s, twelve Fokker 50s wet-leased from VLM (VG, Antwerp Deurne (ANR)) and two Do328-100s wet-leased from Suckling Airways (CB, Cambridge (CBG)) on routes on behalf of Air France (AF, Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG)), KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS)) and on an own network from London City (LCY), though Ms Ourmières has pointed out that any future fleet and route network renewal plans would depend entirely on the airline's new owner. Air France-KLM is expected to issue an announcement on the future home of Cityjet this summer.

15FEB2013: Flybe. not interested in Cityjet sales process
Flybe. (BE, Exeter International (EXT)) Chief Executive Officer Jim French has publicly stated that Flybe. would have no interest in bidding for Air France (AF, Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG)) subsidiary Cityjet (WX, Dublin International (DUB)) that is currently up for sale. French mentioned Cityjet's old fleet, competition from BA CityFlyer (CJ, London City (LCY)) at London City (LCY) and the lack of guarantees for future wet-lease operations on behalf of Air France (AF, Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG)) as key reasons. Air France-KLM is currently trying to find investors interested in acquiring the fully owned regional carrier that has not been profitable in recent years.

06OCT2012: Ryanair details plan to get EC approval for Aer Lingus acquisition
Ryanair (FR, Dublin International (DUB)) has announced a plan of remedy measures it is willing to take to receive European Commission approval for the acquisition of rival Aer Lingus (EI, Dublin International (DUB)). Ryanair has announced that it would be willing to cancel both some of its own routes and services operated by Aer Lingus from Ireland offering slots to 10 competitors including British Airways (BA, London Heathrow (LHR)), Cityjet (WX, Dublin International (DUB)) and Virgin Atlantic (VS, London Heathrow (LHR)) to operate in competition on routes currently only offered by the two Irish carriers. Ryanair has also specifically mentioned that it had studied setting up a base at Brussels National Zaventem (BRU) for Aer Lingus to compete against Brussels Airlines (SN, Brussels National Zaventem (BRU)) instead of its current two UK bases at Belfast Aldergrove International (BFS) (to be moved to Belfast George Best City (BHD)) and London Gatwick (LGW).
