Malaysia Airlines (MH, Kuala Lumpur International) has announced it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ATR - Avions de Transport Régional (EVX, Toulouse Blagnac) for 36 new ATR 72-600 turboprops that would be delivered from fall 2013 onwards if the deal is finalized. 20 of the aircraft are expected to be operated by Firefly (FY, Penang) while the other 16 aircraft would be delivered to MASwings (MY, Kota Kinabalu). Firefly currently already operates 12 ATR 72-500s while MASWings has 10 of the aircraft in its fleet.
