Qantas (QF, Sydney Kingsford Smith) has announced plans to reconfigure the 11 A330-200s currently operated by low-cost carrier subsidiary Jetstar Airways (JQ, Melbourne Tullamarine) from the end of 2014. All of its 20 A330-200s will then be operated on domestic flights in Australia replacing the 21 B767-300ERs Qantas currently still has in its fleet. As part of the plan, Qantas will also place an order with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for five additional B737-800s for delivery in 2014 that will also help replacing the B737-400 fleet by the end of 2013 and B767-300ER fleet by mid-2015. Qantas still has additional 11 B737-800s on order that have yet to be delivered. The A330-200s moving from JetStar to Qantas are scheduled to be replaced by 14 B787-8s.
