Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) has announced plans to transfer four of its eight Rome Fiumicino flights to its sister airport, Rome Ciampino, as a response to "soaring" costs. In a statement, the Hungarian LCC said the switch would affect flights to Gdansk, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara and Tirgu Mures, and would come into effect from May 7. The switch effectively leaves Fiumicino handling Wizz Air flights to Sofia, Prague Václav Havel, Vilnius and Warsaw Chopin. Both airports are owned and managed by Aeroporti di Roma SpA.
