FedEx Express (FX, Memphis International) will operate its last two scheduled US domestic B727-200(F) flights from Lafayette Regional to Memphis International and South Bend to Memphis on Friday, June 21, it has emerged. The last two 727-200(F)s N469FE (msn 21581) and N482FE (msn 21464) flying in revenue service for FedEx will operate on flights in Brazil for a week thereafter before returning home for good on either June 29 or 30. FedEx currently has fourteen 727-200(F)s in its fleet averaging 34 years of age, the aircraft are mainly being replaced by converted B757-200(PF) freighters.
