United Airlines (UA, Chicago O'Hare) is reportedly in talks with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) and Boeing (BOE, Washington National) to convert a 2009 order for twenty five A350-900s into A350-1000s and to convert options for B787-8s into B787-10Xs. However, United hasn’t yet settled on the proportion of options being converted to 787-10Xs and A350s. According to sources privy to the ongoing discussions, switching to A350-1000s would increase the value of the 25 order conversions by 15 percent to USD8.3billion.
