Turkish Airlines (TK, Istanbul Airport) has protested a collective move by Austrian Airlines (OS, Vienna), Swiss (LX, Zurich) and their parent Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) to axe a codeshare agreement with effect from March 2014. In its statement, the Turkish national carrier said it did not approve of Lufthansa's "unilateral" decision and hoped the move would be "reconsidered." The German carrier had complained of Turkish' continued incursion into its domestic market which, it said, had resulted in some routes becoming unprofitable. Turkish Airlines went on to add that "as a member of Star Alliance, it provides its services to all passengers of the other member airlines. Code-share flights and Frequent Flyer Programme (FFP) applications should be considered in this context."
