Rostock Airways (Rostock) is considering establishing a base out of Cologne/Bonn as plans to finally launch operations gather speed. aeroTELEGRAPH says the start-up intends to offer flights out of Cologne to Geneva, likely as a tag on from its planned initial hub, Bremen Hans Koschnick. With its recent acquisition of Austria's Air Alps (Innsbruck), Rostock Airways plans to focus on city pairs that are currently not served by other airlines and intends to build "a network of scheduled, regional flights between the north and either the centre or the south of Germany." Rostock Airways also told German news agency dpa that it would still plan to launch flights from Rostock at a later stage refuting earlier reports that it no longer planned to operate services from Rostock to Copenhagen Kastrup, Frankfurt International and Munich as announced last year.
