easyJet (London Luton) has had its application to operate a new 3x weekly Paris CDG to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion service this summer denied. According to the Globe, the French civil aviation authority (Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile - DGAC) rejected the LCC's application on the grounds that no new slots were available at the airfield owing to air traffic congestion. To compound matters, the paper claims that the DGAC has granted El Al Israel Airlines (LY, Tel Aviv Ben Gurion) an additional slot for an extra and fourth daily flight between Tel Aviv and Paris CDG. easyJet said that it reserves its right to appeal the authority's decision.
